Beginning in 1995, Jeanne went through a series of mystical experiences that included auditory experiences with Jesus. Over the next seven years, several transitions in her life challenged her newfound spiritual experiences. She provided a home for her nonagenarian mother, who was dealing with fears of death and abandonment. She confronted a marriage founded on secrets with a radical openness. Leaving the church culture of her childhood, she entered the Catholic church.

During this period, Jeanne kept a journal. Excerpts from this journal, published in Seven Years of Plenty, describe an intimate story of wonder and grace.

The title is based on Joseph’s dream interpretations in Genesis 41. The wheat images on these pages are by Jeni Luther.
